Palm on Wednesday introduced the Treo 755p, a new smartphone based on Palm OS. It'll be available in Sprint stores, Palm stores and online in mid-May, starting at US$279.99.

The 755p features a QWERTY keyboard and integrated antenna. It's the first Palm OS-based device to feature Microsoft Direct Push technology for e-mail. It also integrates Google Maps for mobile. It comes in two colors: midnight blue and burgundy.

The 755p also supports Sprint TV, dial-up networking using USB or Bluetooth via Sprint's Mobile Broadband Network, support for EvDO Rev. 0, 128MB memory (expandable up to 4GB via a miniSD slot), voice memo support, threaded SMS and MMS messages, 1.3 megapixel digital camera and video recorder, PDF, native Word, Excel and PowerPoint support using Dataviz Documents to Go, and more.
