Editor's Review of ThumbStrips
Sifting through browser history is time-consuming. Worse, if you don't remember the name of the needed site, it's a complete waste of time. Firefox users can browse faster with ThumbStrips, an extension that shows pictures of the Web pages you've recently visited. This time-saving freebie sits at the bottom of your Firefox window, letting you scroll back and forth through thumbnails of the pages you've seen this session.
ThumbStrips makes browsing swift and easy to track. Each thumbnail gives the name of the site and the time of the last visit in relation to current time ("3 minutes ago" instead of "12:02 pm"). The thumbnail shows the page scrolled to the exact point at which you left it, and if you click the thumbnail to return there, it returns you to that point as well. To keep the data from getting overwhelming, you can filter by domain or temporarily stop recording your visits at any point. Thumbstrips automatically saves your last session, so you can get back to surfing faster. You can also save to your hard disk or e-mail individual Thumbstrips sessions.
