This compact photo printer delivers true ease of use and amazing results. Its patented print head technology lets you produce beautiful, long-lasting photos with borderless edges, from credit card size, up to 8.5" x 11", and with resolution up to 4800 x 1200 color dpi. It's fast, too: A superb 4" x 6" borderless print takes only about 55 seconds. For better results, the Auto Image Fix feature automatically corrects images for the best possible exposure, color, brightness and contrast. Also, the specially formulated pigment black ink delivers clear, laser-quality text with better readability and a higher resistance to smudging.

  Duration of ownership: 4 Months

  Strengths: Prints decent quality.

  Weaknesses:Color ink runs out fast with only black & white print. Although the color has to be replaced, the black turns to green until the color is replaced. Ink is expensive and it appears to use that flaw.

  Overall Evaluation: Well below my previous Canon i560

Canon Pixma iP2600 Inkjet Printer

Home and student users should love this inkjet printer's output--and its price--but they'll need a little patience.

You find few true bargains among low-cost color inkjets--such products always involve trade-offs. But Canon's Pixma iP2600 color inkjet printer has the goods where it counts, producing surprisingly decent print quality, even on plain paper. As a result, this supercheap printer's mediocre speed may be less of an issue for many buyers. Another reason to like the iP2600: Canon's better-than-average performance in our recent Reliability and Service survey.
