Duration of ownership: 1 Months
Strengths: Signal strength. Good speed. 120-240 volts. Doesn't pollute wireless spectrum.
Weaknesses:Not fast enough for HD-DVD playback. S-t-u-t-t-e-r-s.
Overall Evaluation: Strong signal in every outlet in house. Handles HDTV via HDHomeRun just fine. Allows networking using existing infrastructure and without adding to the wireless cloud. 1 2 3 4 5

Duration of ownership: 1 Weeks
Strengths: Easy, easy, setup. No software necessary. Speed is improved from 1st generation homeplug products.
Weaknesses:Only one week in but none so far.
Overall Evaluation: To me, this product seems like a second generation of the homeplug/powerline networking products. I had a previous homeplug network (Iogear-see my review) but this Panasonic product is much simpler to setup and is noticeably faster. I feel that I am running around 30mbps while my old system was running just below 10. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------There is no software necessary with this item. Awesome. It seems with the first generation homeplug products that if the connection was lost and the plugs quit communicating with each other, you could be in for a total resetup. I struggled at times getting the Iogear resetup on the 1st or 20th tries. I had to iteratively try the process over and over. I don't believe the software was all that good. But with this Panasonic kit, I feel pretty confident that even if the connection gains a bogey the easy setup is going to save me considerable time. They just have push button resets. Yeah. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Don't worry though. Powerline products don't quit communicating with each other very often. At least, that is my experience. I upgraded for what I hope to be enhanced stability and ease of use. The increased speed is a great benefit too. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- These can be pricey but I feel that I got a great deal with Quack Quack Distributors through PriceGrabber. Thanks.
