    Duration of ownership:

Strengths: Bright, Ultra-Clear Display, Fast Processor, Visually Pleasing, Built-In Webcam, Nice Mouse & Keyboard (included)

Weaknesses:No DVD Writer, Could Use More RAM

Overall Evaluation: I've had this computer for 2 weeks now and have really been enjoying it. I was using an older PowerPC model for the past year or so. When I switched, I felt a big difference in performance. I do a lot of work in Adobe Photoshop, as well as iPhoto and have been very pleased with the 17" Apple display. I've had no problems, the computer works great. It's so nice to experience the fast transfer times loading large files (photos & videos) from my various cameras. Just love it!

    Duration of ownership:

Strengths: Awesome Price, Beautiful Equpiment Design, High Quality Display, Operating System Stability

Weaknesses:This particular model is the barebones model. That said, all you are really missing is a DVD writer, additional memory for optimal performance and bluetooth capability.

Overall Evaluation: I am impressed! By trade, I am a computer network administrator for a small, non-profit organization. I recently purchased this machine as a gift for my wife. At first I hesitated, considering this was a relatively inexpensive, lower end model. I was concerned about the screen size (too small?), the graphics processesor (Intel GMA 950), and the absence of a DVD burner. Now that I've had the opportunity to put the machine to the test, my worries have disappeared. The 17" iMac (Core 2 Duo, 1.83GHz, 512RAM) is a very nice machine. For the speed conscious among us, all this machine needs is a RAM upgrade and it performs extremely well (home video editing, photoshop, etc.). In my mind, the only question is whether you can survive without bluetooth and dvd writing capability. For my wife, she can - and the discount of several hundred dollars (vs. better equipped models) made this a deal we couldn't turn down. We highly recommend the 17" iMac.
