Strengths: Best mapping product that I have found. I've used the product without the GPS since 2001. Like cost and use of GPS.
Weaknesses:Sometimes the directions are incorrect, i.e. have you turning right instead of left.
Overall Evaluation: I'm a realtor and use this product daily. Before this purchase, I used the product without the GPS. It was great, but the addition of the GPS function makes this product the best I have found on the market.

Strengths: intuitative
Weaknesses:no directions on tethering the GPS
Overall Evaluation: I have been using street and maps since 2005 and was so satisfied that I decided to upgrade. This software is very handy when tired on a road trip at a click to have telephone numbers and locations of hotels and restaurants at your finger tips. The map accuracy and details seem very accurate.

Strengths: Larger screen size than usual car GPS units. Nice to know where you are when not in car.
Weaknesses:When driving it can be hard to find a place to place laptop conveniently.
Overall Evaluation: At first I couldn't get a signal from a satellite when inside, trying it out for the first time. I even went out into my backyard carrying the laptop around and still no signal. But when I actually went went driving around in my neighborhood it finally worked great. So basically this thing does need an unobstructed view of the skies (my backyard has large trees in it) to work. I didn't want to spend $200 or more for a GPS unit and when Best Buy had this for sale I snapped one up. I was messing around with it and it has a nighttime mode. That is very handy! Overall I am pretty pleased with this thing and will use it on my next roadtrip which will probably be to Houston, TX. It will probably prove its worth then.

Strengths: The GPS locator works great. The driver guidance is excellent. I also like the trail feature and the map views.
Weaknesses:I have already found that Highway 313 from I65 west to 31W in Radcliff, KY is not on this map. This highway was completed 5-7 years ago, but is not on this software.
Overall Evaluation: I have already found that Highway 313 from I65 west to 31W in Radcliff, KY is not on this software. This highway was completed 5-7 years ago. Can I truly depend on the maps included in this software when a major highway off of an Interstate was not updated. If new roads are not being shown, I could have purchased Streets and Trips 2006 for less money and still had the benefit of the GPS locator.Review by Crenshawdl
