Strengths: Great Picture, excellent sound/speaker performance, two year warranty and Great price

Weaknesses: need to do the autoscan for the channels on the initial setup and lousy remote.

Overall Evaluation: I like this TV after I did two months of the reseach on the plasma TV. I have checked the picture in the best buy and compare this TV with Pansonic and Toshiba. This is the best. I am thinking to buy another one to put on my the other room. I have also checked the new product 4253. The new model doesn't get any better than this one. However, the new successer for this model is HPR4273 (will be out in July). I think they add the ?FilterBright? technology on this TV with more feature. The FilterBright doesn't make the picture better. At least I didn't see the difference. Anyways, I think it's the best time to buy this TV now because it has 2 year warranty with the great picture and sound. You don't need to spend another $500 or $1000 for the new model.

Strengths: the HD is great, the sound is wonderful, and the picture is very clear.

Weaknesses: Some channels are a bit blury, but i think its more a cable issue then the tv.

Overall Evaluation: I was a little nervous about buying online, but i couldnt pass up the money saved. Everything went perfectly. It arrived within a week and works great. This TV is really fantastic. The HD is amazing and the sound is great. My only problem is that the some channels are blurry (although i think thats more cable related) and that you have to adjust channels rather reguraly to the widescreen (also most likely cable related). The colors can be a little bright but that can of course be adjusted. I am really happy with the tv, especially for the price paid.

Strengths: Brilliant picture excellent sound and ease to setup.Love the design

    Weaknesses: Only one HDMI input

Overall Evaluation: We did a lot of research before making a Plasma our final decision. The specifications on this HDTV is what we were looking for and the demension of 4 inches deep is what we wanted. Fifth Generation Plasma Technology is one of the highest in the industry. Contrast ratio and brightness has been enhanced-10,000:1 contrast and 1,300 cd/m2 brightness With 13-bit processing you get 549 billion life like colors and a video signal processing system that handles analog sources with a more natural and vivid result. This TV has 10 two way speakers. We can not turn the volume up past 5 so we do not know the maximun. The DNIe Video Enhancer will improve lower quality videos. We like the bezel-less design that gives you the big picture without the bounderies around the picture. We are very pleased with our new Plasma TV and are going to enjoy it as much as possible.

    Duration of ownership:

Strengths: Beautiful Design; Easy Connections and Setup; Outstanding Picture

Weaknesses: Singe HDMI Connection & Poor Universal Remote Control

Overall Evaluation: I researched long and hard before I chose the Samsung 4272. I looked at Panasonic, Sony, Pioneer and NEC. Each has its selling points but Samsung has combined them all in one TV - unbelievable HD picture; extraordinary sound with multiple options; very easy setup menus and connections. I considered DLPs, as well, but opted for the plasma for several reasons e.g., width of viewing angle was very important in light of my room configuration; the burn-in factor has been reduced especially with the Samsung 2 year warranty. And if you register your purchase with Samsung, you obtain an additional 3 months on top of that. And the price differential has become a nonfactor. My only criticisms, and they are minor, is I wish component manufacturers would just not waste our time & money by including a Mickey Mouse "universal" remote. Spend a hundred plus and buy an activity-based remote. My other problem is I wish Samsung had included 2 HDMI connections. Most consumers who will buy a plasma of this quality will have a cable box and DVD requiring HDMI connections. Either you switch connections when you want to watch a DVD or you pay a few hundred for an HDMI switch. Bottom line, though, is I love this HDTV.

Strengths: Great Design, Attractive price, excellent sound/speaker performance

    Weaknesses: None found yet!

Overall Evaluation: This Samsung Plasma TV is great. Ordered it from Vanns.com and received it in one piece. Excellent design and speaker/sound system. I would recommend this TV. This TV is bright and the detail received from the DNIe is also a cool feature. Colors are bright and the detail is superb. Picture is a little fuzzy on regular TV, but that is a problem with my cable company and not the TV as the HD channels are crisp and DVD's are also crisp and vibrant. This is a great choice. You will be pleased with this TV.

Strengths: No bezel. Good bright picture even in sunny room.

    Weaknesses: Lousy remote control

Overall Evaluation: I bot this after looking for the Panasonic 42" that no one has in stock. Compared to the other pro lines at Magnolia Hi Fi in Best buy and the lower end plasmas this seemed like a good deal. All black design is very nice. All the connectors you need with mutliple side inputs and back inputs including DVI for a Media Ctr PC. Paid 3199 at best buy/magnolia less 12% rewards coupon.Don't get the extended warranty. They tried to talk me into the extended but this comes with a two year warranty anyways which is 1 yr better than the regular Samsung lineup.
